An estimated one in five people getting a refund this year, will spend their money towards a car.

The Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin is warning to take your time shopping, before you end up with junk.
“Do your homework, make sure you know what kind of vehicle you want and your budget,” said Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin President Jim Temmer

Temmer also suggests matching up the Vehicle Identification Number, VIN, with a website ran by The Department of Justice. It well tell you everything about your car from the title liens to terrible wrecks.

Watch how the seller tries to unload your next set of wheels.
“If they refuse to let you test drive it or a minimal test drive,  that could be a salvaged car that they cleaned up a little bit and has no value to it,” said Temmer.

According to the BBB, unless you can prove you were scammed when you bought a junk car, there is nothing you can do.
