In the wake of the "Making a Murderer" Netflix series, a group has organized a protest Friday demanding a retrial in the Steven Avery case.

"I believe he should be retried, and see what happens with the trial...see if he can be found not guilty. I believe he is not guilty," Katie Stamoulrous, who has helped to organize the protest, told 620WTMJ's John Mercure on "Wisconsin's Afternoon News."

"He is not a killer, and I believe that evidence is very weak."

She told Mercure she has watched the Netflix series, but has not looked at the tree weeks of evidence in the case that led to Avery's conviction.

When asked why she believed Avery did not kill Teresa Halbach, her response was this: "When I look at him in pictures and look at his nephew in pictures, I don't see a killer."
