VILLAGE OF VERNON — While responding to a fire at a home and its attached garage Friday morning, Waukesha County first responders found an adult victim deceased inside, Waukesha County Sheriff's Department says.
Authorities received a call just before 11 a.m. about a fire at W223 S7685 Valley View Rd. in the Village of Vernon.
Upon arriving at the home, first responders saw flames burning through the home and its attached garage. Unfortunately, inside the home, they found an adult person deceased.
The county's medical examiner is now working to determine the cause of death.
No other injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Sheriff's Department did not release the identity of the victim, in its statement posted to social media Friday evening.
