MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee real estate developer is designing an eight-story, $35 million building in the city's downtown, the Milwaukee Business Journal reports.

New Land Enterprises' proposed building would include up to 220 apartment units, located on the former Buca di Beppo restaurant site along North Van Buren Street, according to the BizJournal, a TMJ4 news partner. The complex would also include up to 300 parking stalls and retail shops on the first floor.

New Land's managing director, Tim Gokhmanm, tells the outlet that they applied for a city zoning change in early December and are currently working on the building's design details.

The developer could break ground on the project in the fall of 2021, Gokhmanm says, and the building could open in the spring of 2023.

Milwaukee-based Korb + Associates Architects is designing the building, the BizJournal reports.
