34-year-old West Bend man seriously injured in weekend snowmobile accident

SHERMAN — A 34-year-old West Bend man was seriously injured in a snowmobiling accident over the weekend.

According to the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office, one man was seriously injured after his snowmobile struck a rock wall and caused him and the snowmobile to become airborne for nearly 100 feet.

The accident happened in a field near STH 144 at the intersection of Lynn Rd. in the Town of Sherman. Preliminary investigations show the rider was traveling a high rate of speed.

The operator was seriously injured and was taken to Froedtert Hospital via Flight for Life.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources was contacted and will be handling the investigation.
