MADISON, Wis. - Madison police tell WISC-TV they arrested two suspects after back-to-back fights at a University Avenue bar early Friday.
The fights occurred at Wando's, at 602 University Ave. When officers arrived shortly before 2 a.m., they found out a bouncer had been knocked unconscious after a man kicked him, police said.
The suspect allegedly tried to force his way into the bar and the bouncer attempted to prevent him from doing so. The suspect was arrested, and is facing disorderly conduct and substantial battery charges, police said.
While police were dealing with the first incident, a second fight broke out inside the bar, officials said.
Officers were then directed by witnesses to detain a 21-year-old man, police said. After being placed in handcuffs, the man began threatening to spit at the officers, police said.
The officers were then followed and threatened by 5-8 of the suspect's friends, police said.
