1 dead, 1 seriously injured in separate shootings in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE – A 22-year-old woman was killed and a 33-year-old man was seriously injured in separate shootings Tuesday evening in Milwaukee. 

Milwaukee Police were called to the area of 4200 N. 27th Street around 10:15 p.m. for a report of a shooting. When they arrived at that location, they found the 22-year-old woman unresponsive. Several officers initiated CPR and continued until being relieved by the Milwaukee Fire Department. Fire crews continued with lifesaving efforts -- but the victim died at the hospital.

Police say the events leading up to the shooting, including a motive, remain under investigation at this time.  

Around 6:45 p.m., Milwaukee Police were also called to a shooting near the 8700 block of W. Brown Deer Road. Police say arriving squads found the 33-year-old man with a serious gunshot wound. Police’s initial investigation revealed that the victim was involved in a fight with another person – and that person got a gun and shot the victim. The fire department treated the victim on the scene and transported him to a local hospital.

Milwaukee Police are also still looking for the suspect or suspects in each of these shootings.
