1 dead, 1 injured in separate overnight robbery-related shootings in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee police are searching for the suspects who shot and robbed two people in separate incidents overnight.

A 30-year-old Milwaukee man was shot and killed just before Midnight on Monday in the in the 2100 block of S. 7th St. 

Veronica Mendez, a neighbor who knew the victim, said he was a good man.  

"It's just sad, it's just sad that it had to happen in my community where I live. Definitely praying for the family," she said. "If anybody knows anything, say something. This family needs closure."

Another 30-year-old Milwaukee man was injured after being shot in the 2900 block of S. 14th Street around 2 a.m. Tuesday. Police say the man is being treated at a local hospital and is in stable condition.

Police have not said whether these two incidents are connected. 

Milwaukee police are still investigating both of the incidents. Anyone with information is urged to call police.
