GREEN BAY, WI -- Green Bay Police say someone is posing as a police captain from their department and targeting people through their phones.
The scam artist is texting and calling numbers saying the person they're calling is under investigation.
The scammer then warns you to pay a large amount of bail money to a family member of the alleged victim to avoid being arrested and sent to prison.
Green Bay Police say they will never ask you for money over the phone.
