MADISON (NBC 26) -- Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) reported another record high number of new coronavirus cases Thursday.

New data on the DHS website reports 1,547 new cases of COVID-19 in the state.
The last time the number was nearly that high was last Friday, when DHS explained the high number was due to an issue with reporting results and encouraged people to look at the seven-day average.

The number of total confirmed cases in Wisconsin is now 84,881, with 88% of those cases listed as recovered. There are currently 8,836 active coronavirus cases in Wisconsin.
Ten more people died from COVID-19 on Thursday, raising the state's death toll to 1,193.
