Steny's closed after positive COVID-19 case

Tavern will re-open after deep cleaning and staff testing

MILWAUKEE — A positive COVID-19 case has forced Steny's to temporarily shut down again, according to the bar's Facebook page.

"In the abundance of caution, we have voluntarily decided to close down until we have deep cleaned the bar in its entirety and have every staff member tested." the post says.

Steny's had reopened for dine-in customers on June 5.

The popular Walker's Point sports bar known for its wings and fish fry nights, also states in the post it will focus even more intensely on customer safety upon its return, and sent a message to all restaurant customers.

"When we reopen, we will find more ways to keep everyone safe and continue to adhere to guidelines of social distancing protocol, continuous sanitation, and personal protective gear for all staff members," the post continues. "We strongly encourage others that plan on entering businesses that are open to the public or for carryout and/or taking part in other social gatherings to take care of themselves. PLEASE make sure you are completely symptom-free and to get tested if any symptoms are present. We sincerely and deeply apologize for this news and hope that everyone remains healthy and safe."
