Racine sheriff receives COVID-19 vaccine

Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at Ascension Healthcare Sunday, Jan. 17, in an effort to fight against the coronavirus.

“As the head of the largest law enforcement agency in Racine County, I am leading the way to show my trust in the vaccination“As the head of the largest law enforcement agency in Racine County, I am leading the way to show my trust in the vaccination," said Schmaling. "I encourage all my staff and other area law enforcement officers to get vaccinated as they are able to. As more vaccinations become available, I am hopeful others will receive it as well. I believe this is a crucial step in getting our nation and economy back on track.”

Later this week, Racine County law enforcement will have the opportunity to get vaccinated as well.
