The Pabst Theater Group is asking for supporters to call on Congress to help independent venues stay afloat amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The National Independent Venue Association said that 90 percent of the 2,400 independent venue members will be forced to close their doors if none receive "meaningful support from Congress."

"As one of the first to close during COVID-19 and one of the last to reopen, independent venues need your help now," wrote the theater group on Facebook.

NIVA is asking for federal assistance to help venues stay afloat.

Supporters are asked to send a message to their state legislators to encourage support for independent venues. For more information, click here.
