National Guard coming to Kenosha County Detention Center to assist with COVID-19 testing

KENOSHA COUNTY — Members of the Wisconsin National Guard are coming to the Kenosha County Detention Center and Pretrial Facility to help with COVID-19 testing.

The National Guard said that all of the inmates and employees at the facilities will be tested for the virus in an effort to be proactive and contain outbreaks.

Currently, there are 13 known cases of COVID-19 among detention center employees, while there is two positive cases at the pretrial facility.

According to the Guard, members will swab employees and inmates. The results are expected to be return within 24 to 48 hours.

As of Tuesday morning, there were 340 positive cases of coronavirus in Kenosha County, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
