Juneteenth Day celebrations for 2020 have been canceled due to, yes, the coronavirus.

The Juneteenth Day Parade and Street Festival were scheduled to take place June 19 at Rose Park. But, it's not all bad news!

Since the Juneteenth festivities aren't happening, the Northcott Neighborhood House and the Juneteenth Day Executive Committee have decided to instead host a Freedom Ball sometime between October and December.

The Freedom Ball will kickoff "major" fundraising for Juneteenth Day 2021 celebrations.

Juneteenth Day scholarships for local youths will still be given out this year. For more information on scholarships, stay tuned for updates from Juneteenth Day social media pages.
