Port Fish Day 2020 has, for lack of a better word, flopped. Event organizers decided to cancel the festival due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Port Fish Day Planning Committee and Board of Directors discussed whether the festival should be postponed or canceled, and ultimately decided to cancel.

It was initially set to take place July 18.

"Fish Day cannot go on without the help of our civic organizations, sponsors and guests who are at this time are financially focused on the well-being of their families," said General Chair of Port Fish Day Bruce Manderscheid in a statement. "We are respecting the concerns that have been expressed by our guests and volunteers who are wary in joining together in a large crowd so soon after the Stay at Home mandates may be lifted."

Port Fish Day will return in 2021.
