CITY OF WAUKESHA — The City of Waukesha has canceled its Christmas Parade out of "an abundance of caution."

The City of Waukesha Chamber of Commerce posted on Facebook, stating that a "rapid spread" of COVID-19 was the reason for the decision.

Waukesha County was noted as one of the three counties in Wisconsin with the highest amount of new cases over the last several weeks, according to a new White House Coronavirus Task Force report.

As of Tuesday, there were more than 19,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Waukesha County.

"We look forward to celebrating our traditional holiday parade next year for the city’s 125th anniversary! We hope to make it bigger and better than ever," wrote the chamber.
