What if you want to create some homemade gifts for the holidays, but don’t know how to sew, knit or crochet? You don’t have to be a master crafter to make some adorable gifts to tuck into Christmas stockings this year.

In fact, you can make cute little teddy bears like these with some basic supplies that you may already have around the house. And if you don’t, they are easy to pick up at local stores like Walmart or Target.

These teddy bears only take a few minutes to put together and can be used as stocking stuffers or even as fun bathroom decor for the holidays.

We found a tutorial video on YouTube from DIY Corner that walks you through the teddy bear-making process step-by-step and it looks pretty simple.

You’ll begin by gathering your supplies, which include:

  • a hand towel or washcloth (depending on how big you want your finished teddy bear to be)
  • large, thin rubber bands (you’ll need one for the actual bear, but probably want a few extra in case it breaks)
  • colored embroidery thread that matches your towel or washcloth
  • a pair of scissors
  • one flat piece of ribbon (about 1/2-inch to 3/4-inch wide)

The secret to making the teddy bear without any sewing is merely a bit of clever folding.

First, you’ll take the towel or washcloth and lay it flat on the table. Next, you’ll roll up the bottom of the fabric to the center and then repeat with the top of the cloth, rolling down. You should have two rolls touching each other in the middle of the towel at this point.

From there, you’ll want to watch the video to see how to fold and twist the towel into the general teddy bear shape. You’ll hold it all together with the rubber band and embroidery thread and finish up by giving your bear the decorative touch with the ribbon.

All that’s left to do is to tuck your teddy bear into a stocking or add him to your bathroom decor for the festive holiday season!
