Schultz has been named the most distinctive Wisconsin name according to MentalFloss.com.

This ranking is different than the most common name in the state, a study by Ancestry.com found Johnson, Smith and Anderson to be the most common Wisconsin names.

Instead, this study dug into Social Security Death Master File to find what names truly belong to Wisconsin.

Schulz was determined by taking the top 250 most prevalent last names and calculating a distinctive ratio.

The other top five most Wisconsin names are Olson, Hanson, Schmidt and Larson.
