WEST BEND — When you think of a car wash, haunted houses probably don't come to mind. Well, maybe that should change.

"This just isn’t your average car wash. This is something that brings a little fun with the family. Brings a little spooky-ness if you like," Brad Lenk, the manager of Scrub-A-Dub car wash in West Bend said.

His shop on 1515 S Main St. defies expectations and then some. He has around 15 life-sized characters and dozens of props.

Some of those life-sized creatures include: a multiple werewolves, pirate, Frankenstein, and a witch. Plus, there's a giant spider, countless gravestones, huge cobwebs, and plenty of cobwebs. Some of the employees even put on realistic werewolf masks.

"Set up time its endless we just start about a week before October and just keep building and adding throughout the month," Lenk said.

He added that business picks up once the decorations are in place too.

This is a relatively new tradition. While Lenk said he has always been a big fan of Halloween, he has only decorated Scrub-A-Dub for the past seven years. In that short time though, he has gained a loyal following.

"They always wait for October 1, and they will come through many many times just to bring the kids through. Suckers and spider rings for everybody."

Scrub-A-Dub is open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The decorations will be up until the weekend after Halloween.
