The Wisconsin State Fair kicked off with a busy day of visitors. TODAY’S TMJ4 went to find out what brings people back every year.

Sally and James Grybush of Waukesha have been coming since they were kids for more than 70 years.

“We love it, it’s just part of Wisconsin tradition,” said James.

As children, they loved the rides and the food, but today they like to watch the next generation enjoy it for the first time.

“Just watching the kids eat creme puffs. I love it,” said Sally.

And for the youngest fairgoers, it’s hard to pick what they like best.

“The pigs,” said Levi Turner, 5.

He said he likes them because they oink.

“The slide cause there is a lot of bumps and you kind of get lifted up a little,” said Anna Recht, 5.

“The Ferris wheel,” said Hailey Hanson, 9.

“The lemonade,” said Leah Hanson, 14.

For the Hansons’ mom, she said the best part of it is the memories they create at the fair.

“Just everything, it is just fun,” said Jessica Hanson.
