It's beginning to feel a lot like summer and the people at MillerCoors are ready to celebrate with the city of Milwaukee.
Miller Brewing will host a free 'Cheers to Milwaukee' concert at the Riverside Theater in downtown Milwaukee on Friday, June 9 at 8 p.m.
"We're looking at it like a kickoff event to summer," Sara Peronto, PR Director for the Pabst Theater said. "Miller just wanted to plan an event that would be fun, exciting and interesting to the community."
Interesting is an understatement. The concert is free to anyone who gets a ticket but who is performing?
"It's a surprise," Peronto said. "That's all I can tell you."
According to Jim Kanter, general manager of MillerCoors, it will be a cover band with well-known members. He says this group also frequently brings out special guests as well.
"We can't reveal too much stuff," Kanter said. "We want to make it a surprise and make it fun. It will be a great way to kick off summer and celebrate the great summer here."
There are about 500 tickets available at the MillerCoors Girl on the Moon gift shop and they had given away about 300 by mid-day Friday. However, there will be more tickets available at various bars and restaurants throughout the city. Follow the Pabst Theater Facebook page for more information on where to get them.
