Summerfest is getting ready to kick off its first weekend in a style with a music icon headlining the night, promotions and giveaways, and plenty of other acts to check out.
Paul Simon takes the American Family Insurance Amphitheater Stage with Brandi Carlisle at 7:30. Other headliners included The Revivalists, Dispatch, Trombone Shorty, Jon Bellion, House of Pain, Sammy Llanas, and 76 Juliet. Get the full list here.
Friday is also "Go Red Day to Summerfest" presented by Sendik's. Everyone who arrives between noon and 3:00 p.m. wearing a red shirt (or who has a Sendik's Red Bag) will receive one free weekday admission ticket. Tickets are available at the Mid Gate Promotions Booth.
But a free ticket isn't the only thing you can snag at the lakefront today - the first 4,000 people through the gates will receive a voucher good for one free Summerfest Smile bobblehead, which you can redeem at either Milwaukee-area Robert Haack Diamonds location.
