MILWAUKEE -- A good appetite is a great sign for Anna the cat. On Friday, an Animal Control officer found her under a bridge almost frozen and unresponsive in single digit weather.

Luckily it was not too late. Police called Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC), ultimately saving her life. The team warming disks and heated blankets helped Anna get to a healthy temperature. In just a day, Anna is much better.

“Her tail seems a bit frostbitten today; the tips of her ears are a little frostbitten today but those will heal eventually," says veterinarian Dr. Syna Johnson.

But the question you really want answered: Will Anna be up for adoption? The answer: not yet.

While this is one example of a happy outcome, that's not always the case. With cold temperatures it means an increase in cold animals. So, if you see an animal that could be in danger pick up the phone.

It could save an animal’s life.
