Southeast Wisconsin braces for up to 9 inches of snow

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha Counties from 9 p.m. Monday until 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The snow showers are moving in for the first significant snowstorm of the season for some of SE WI. There is a Winter Storm Warning for Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties until 6 pm Tuesday. These areas will get 6"+ with the potential for some lake effect snow as well.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 6 pm for the rest of SE WI except Fond du lac and Dodge counties. Those two counties will get about 2" of snow. The rest of the area will see 3-5" of snow. With lows tonight near 30 and highs near 32 all day on Tuesday, this will be all snow. And it will be wet sticky snow as well. Despite the sticky snow, visibilities will be very low at times tonight and Tuesday with NE winds gusting close to 40 mph. The snow should be out of the area by 4 pm.

Tuesday night drops into the teens with a brisk wind and Wednesday will be in the 20s with wind chills in the teens and a few flurries. Thursday is the cold day of the week with highs near 20. At least it is sunny with a light breeze. Friday is nice with highs near 30 and then we are tracking another storm for the weekend. Stay tuned...this one looks messy as well.
