First accumulating snow coming Tuesday

and last updated 2020-11-23 23:27:39-05

After a sunny and chilly weekend with morning frost, that trend continued for Monday with a frosty start and then plenty of sun, light breeze and highs in the low to mid 40s.

A storm system is in Iowa and will bring our first accumulating snow by morning for parts of our area. Milwaukee and the lakefront will have wet roads for the commute with a half-inch of snow on the grass and cold surfaces. Areas north and west could see 1-2" of snow before noon. Madison and west could see 2-4" of snow. The snow changes to rain by late morning and expect rain the rest of the day with highs in the low 40s and a gusty SE wind. Any snow we get will melt.

The rain continues Tuesday night and Wednesday with at least a half-inch by Wednesday afternoon. After a few sunny days expect dreary conditions and even some fog through Wednesday night.

Thanksgiving Day is partly cloudy and nice with a high near 50 and a light wind. Friday is sunny and 46, Saturday sunny and 45, and Sunday will see a rain/snow mix with highs in the upper 30s and a strong wind.
