and last updated 2021-02-02 23:41:36-05

Despite stubborn clouds until midday, we got back into the lower 30s today along with some afternoon sunshine and a light breeze. Tonight is partly cloudy, cold and frosty with lows in the teens in Milwaukee to single digits inland. You have one more nice day on Wednesday to get your errands done before the wintry miss returns on Thursday and the arctic cold for the weekend. Wednesday is partly cloudy with highs in the low 30s and a light wind.

The next storm arrives Thursday with a morning wintry mix with less than 1" of slush on the roads with a high of 36. Expect snow showers from noon until 7pm with 2-3" in Milwaukee to 2-5" to the north. The snow starts to taper off in the late evening but then blowing snow becomes the issue with westerly winds gusting to 40 mph. The flurries taper off early Friday morning. Total accumulation looks to be 2-4" in Milwaukee and south and 4-7" of snow in Ozaukee, Washington, Dodge, Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties. Friday's highs are in the teens but the NW wind at 30-40 mph will keep wind chills below zero all day. Saturday is in the single digits and Sunday might not get above zero. With the wind, wind chills will stay below zero all weekend and could be -25 or colder overnight.
