Possible thunderstorms Thursday

and last updated 2020-03-18 23:42:03-04

We woke up to clouds and light rain, but north of Milwaukee had large snowflakes that created a dusting of accumulation on grassy surfaces before 11am. As temps warmed into the mid 30s, the snow changed to light rain and drizzle for the rest of the afternoon.

It has been a dreary and damp day with highs near 40. Tonight is cloudy and mild with lows in the mid to upper 30s with patchy fog.

Thursday is foggy and the warmest day of the week with highs in the mid 50s by late afternoon, but afternoon showers are likely, and there is even a chance for t’storms. We are under a slight risk for severe weather in southern Wisconsin…the main risks being gusty winds and large hail.

Those downpours will drop a half to 1” of rain by Thursday night. As temps drop Thursday night, a few snowflakes are possible Friday morning, and the rest of the day is cloudy and windy with temps in the 30s and wind chills in the teens. The NW wind will gust to 40 mph.

Saturday and Sunday are sunny again, but chilly with highs in the 30s on Saturday to the lower 40s on Sunday.
