More snow and cold coming later this week

and last updated 2020-02-10 23:48:09-05

A weak ago Sunday we had a record shattering 56, yesterday 4-8” of snow. The sun came out today and helped melt some of that snow with highs in the low to mid 30s. The roads are wet in some areas so watch out for patchy icy spots forming this evening as the temps drop into the 20s. By morning inland areas are in the low teens and Milwaukee around 20 with some sun and frost. The afternoon is seasonal with some sun, a high of 30 and a brisk westerly wind to 20 mph.

Wednesday is mostly cloudy, breezy and mild with a high of 36. By evening, a light rain/snow mix moves in that will change to all snow overnight and into Thursday morning. Right now we are looking at 1-3” of snow across SE Wisconsin. Then it gets cold Thursday afternoon. After a high of 21 Thursday morning, the temp drops to 14 by late afternoon with a cold NW wind gusting to 25 mph. Thursday night is the coldest night of the season so far with a low of -3 in Milwaukee and -10 inland. It will be the first time we are below zero this winter in Milwaukee. Wind chills will be -10 to -20 with a light breeze. Friday is sunny and cold with a high of 17. Another chance for snow arrives late Saturday afternoon and will linger into Sunday with highs in the low to mid 30s. We will have to do more shoveling…stay tuned.
