Wind Chill Advisory now in effect through Friday morning

Last night 2-3” of wet snow quickly froze as temps dropped from 32 at midnight to the single digits by morning with those 35 mph winds. The light morning snow tapered off and was replaced by sunshine and a very cold wind. Afternoon temps were in the lower teens with wind chills to -5. Tonight will be the coldest night of the season so far with our first night below zero. Milwaukee will be -5 with wind chills to -20 and inland will be -12 with wind chills to -30. As a result, all of SE Wisconsin is under a wind chill advisory until 10am Friday.

Friday is sunny and cold with a high of 15 and wind chills 0 to -5 all day. The wind shifts to the SW late Friday, and while wind chills will be below zero in the evening, temps start to rise and wind chills will be above zero by Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon is cloudy and mild with highs in the mid 30s and a SW wind gusting to 30 to 40 mph. Light snow is also likely in the afternoon with less than 1” of accumulation. Sunday is sunny and pleasant with a light breeze and highs in the low to mid 30s.
