Another winter storm expected to dump up to 8 inches of snow this weekend

and last updated

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued from Saturday at 6 p.m. to Sunday at 6 p.m. CST for Kenosha, Racine, Washington, Ozaukee, Milwaukee, Walworth, and Waukesha Counties.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued from Saturday at 6 p.m. to Sunday at 6 p.m. for Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Dodge, and Jefferson Counties.

Overnight will be mostly cloudy and dry; lows won't be as cold as the last few nights with temps only falling into the 20s.

Saturday morning and afternoon will be mostly cloudy with snow holding off until after 5pm. Snow will move in Saturday evening and continue Saturday night through much of the day Sunday, especially near the lakeshore. Snow will be heavy at times, and this does look like a more heavy, wet snow event. Total snow should range from 6-8" for our counties along the lakeshore (Ozaukee and south) and near the Illinois state line. Further inland and north, including Dodge, Fond du Lac, Jefferson and Sheboygan counties will get less total snow, likely 2-4". It will be windy Sunday as well, causing chilly wind chills, potential for blowing snow, and large waves on Lake Michigan.

Snow ends Sunday night. Monday will be partly cloudy and breezy with highs in the 20s. Tuesday and Wednesday are dry with some sunshine. Our next system moves in Thursday bringing the chance for a rain/snow mix. Details will become clearer early next week.
