First snowflakes of the season possible overnight

Posted
and last updated

A cold front came through overnight with a few light rain and snow showers.  The mix precip will wind down from west to east to Live at Daybreak.  The winds are increasing from the northwest behind the front helping to pull in another shot of cool autumn air for Monday.  Any lingering clouds at sunrise will quickly clear and we can look forward to mostly sunny skies through the afternoon.

Despite the sunshine, temperatures only reach the mid 40s this afternoon and winds will remain quite blustery from the WNW 15-30 mph.  Skies remain clear tonight as temps fall to around freezing by early Tuesday morning.

More of the same is expected Tuesday, but a little warmer with highs climbing into the lower 50s.  The next chance of rain won't be until Friday and that looks very light at best.  It also looks like we may see 60s again by the end of the week.
