Winter weather advisory issued for SE Wisconsin counties

and last updated

Happy New Year! A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until midnight tonight for Milwaukee, Waukesha, Walworth, Racine, Washington, Jefferson, Ozaukee and Kenosha counties.

Snow is already falling in these areas and mixing with some sleet. Total accumulations will be 2-3" with isolated 4" amounts near the state line. Areas north of Milwaukee will see 1-2" of snow. This is wet so it won't blow around much with the 20-30 mph wind this evening.

The sky clears out a bit overnight with lows in the low 20s in Milwaukee to teens inland. The wind becomes light and it will be frosty. Saturday is partly cloudy and pleasant with highs near freezing and a light breeze.

There is a chance for a few flurries Saturday night into Sunday morning with lows near 20. Sunday is partly cloudy and nice with a light breeze and highs in the low to mid 30s. Next week is mild with highs in the mid to upper 30s...we might get to 40 on Tuesday and Wednesday. The only precipitation is a slight chance for a light wintry mix late Wednesday.
