Following the Panthers loss to the Indianapolis colts on Sunday, the Panthers met with ex-Packer coach Mike McCarthy regarding their open head coach position.
Mike McCarthy was fired from the Packers just weeks before the end of the 2018 season. Fans and players were criticizing McCarthy's predicable play calling and conservative offense.
According to ESPN, the Panthers fired head coach Ron Rivera earlier this month and they're now looking for an offensive-minded coaches who are willing to take a more statistical and analytical approach to coaching.
In an interview by NFL.com, McCarthy said he has spent the last year studying analytics and newer offensive philosophies.
McCarthy led the Packers to eight consecutive postseason appearances from 2009 to 2016, and led the Pack to a Super Bowl victory in 2011.
