EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Around noon on Sunday officials responded to a report of a structure collapse at the Mega Holiday gas station on Birch Street in Eau Claire.

WEAU-TV reported one vehicle trapped under the overhang structure that collapsed.

Eau Claire Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief, Joe Kelly says there was one man filling up his gas tank under the overhang when he heard a rumbling noise, went back inside his vehicle and the roof collapsed. He got himself out of the vehicle and was transported to an area hospital.

Kelly says law enforcement looked over video surveillance from the gas station to make sure no one else was under the structure when it collapsed.

This is the third roof collapse Eau Claire Fire & Rescue responded to on Sunday, including a partial roof collapse at A to Z Towing just off of Clairemont Ave., and a mobile home roof collapse on Seymour Rd.

Kelly says the incidents today are a reminder to clear snow off of roofs of homes and businesses.
