MILWAUKEE -- As a defender for the Milwaukee Admirals, Jimmy Oligny, is used to playing rough. But that's just on the ice.

"I think in general when I'm not on the ice I'm a pretty happy guy," said Jimmy Oligny, Admirals defenders.

It's that personality trait which has Oligny practicing for his new role in Milwaukee.

"I think it's just a good thing for us to get in the community. Especially, the fans that we are getting, they are giving us their support. So it's just good for us to give back," said Oligny.

Planning to trade in his uniform for a coat and top hat, Oligny is set to be an extra in the Milwaukee Rep's production of A Christmas Carol

"At the begining I thought it was a good idea, but after that I was kinda stressed when they told me I would have to be on stage. But I think I will be fine. Don't ask me to do a backflip, becuase I can't," said Oligny.

It's charming to see someone who is so confident skating backwards, have worries about a simple role. Then again, Oligny will more than likely have the largest fan group.

"I try to not talk about it so they forget. For sure there is a couple of guys that are going to be there and try to make me stress a bit more. I think it's just going to be fun and we're going to laugh bout it," said Oligny.

oligny's acting debut will be Decemeber 7th. So he has some time to get over the stage fright.  Maybe even watch A Christmas Carol for the first time ever.

"Yeah if i'm going to have to play a character. For sure," said Oligny.

Hopefully, his teammates can help with that.

Opening night for A Christmas Carol is December 1st.
