If you're a golfer desperate to dust off your clubs, good news!  You don't have to wait until spring to hit the links. With the February thaw, there are several courses opening up this Friday, February 17.

Waukesha County
Moor Downs Golf Course

Milwaukee County
Grant Golf Course
Lincoln Park Golf Course

Racine County
Ives Grove Golf Course

"That's pretty exciting," Russ Launder said, a die hard golfer. "Anytime you have a golf course available, you want to use it. I'm sure there will be a few people out there."

The warmer temperatures have a lot of golfers itching to get out. Temperatures this weekend will soar into the 50's.

"At the age of 89, it's great to play golf.  As a matter of fact, it's great to be any place at my age," Launder said. He plays golf year round.

Waukesha County is not announcing an official start to the golfing season. Even though Moors Down is opening, the other public courses in the county are monitoring turf conditions.
