MADISON -- Longtime Wisconsin Badgers Coach Bo Ryan will be inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame later this year, it was announced Wednesday morning.

Ryan is one of eight players chosen in the 2017 class, including John Stockton of Gonzaga and Wake Forest's Tim Duncan.

The famed Wisconsin coach brought his Badgers to back-to-back Final fours in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. He was a four-time Big Ten Coach of the Year, and won four Division III National Championships with UW-Platteville in the 1990s.

Ryan retired midway through the 2015-16 season and was replaced by current coach Greg Gard.

The honor from the NCB Hall of Fame may not be the last this year for Ryan. He was also announced as a finalist for the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame earlier this month.
