As time has moved on since the Josh Sitton release 10 days ago, more information appears to be revealing itself about why the Packers released him nine days ago.

According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, a source says that by keeping Sitton on the roster after telling him he was "not a priority" in long-term contract negotiations would foster a "poisonous atmosphere," which is what led to his release on the final cut down day.

Reporter Pete Dougherty cited the source saying that Sitton "openly disparaged personnel moves, coaching decisions and his teammates' abilities in any and every setting" and could be "argumentative in meetings."

The report also said that coaches were discovering his teammates acting in similar ways, so "the team parted ways" with him.
