The Green Bay Packers (3-2) will aim to wash away the unpleasant taste of a 30-16 week 6 loss to the Dallas Cowboys when they host the Chicago Bears (1-5) Thursday night at Lambeau Field.

Packers Head Coach, Mike McCarthy addressed the media Monday afternoon to reflect on the loss, look ahead to the Bears, and provide an injury update. Below are some top-line notes.

  • Ty Montgomery did some great things from the running back position. He needs to have the ball. He also needs to take care of the ball.
  • As for the RB situation for Thursday: still working through the process. Same for CB position.
  • Would like to have an additional RB available. [Starks expected to miss multiple weeks with a meniscus injury. Had surgery on Sunday]. Eddie Lacy still being evaluated.
  • Did not get Randall Cobb the ball enough against the Cowboys. That was a "failure".
  • Four turnovers is completely unacceptable. Aaron, Jordy and Ty need to take care of it...overshadows good things. First drill every day is ball security. Have to be better.
  • Red zone efficiency needs to improve. Turnovers are a killer. Kicking too many field goals.
  • Bryan Bulaga (back) will likely try to play Thursday. Jason Spriggs did some good things in place of Bulaga vs Dallas.
  • Medical report somewhat dictates how a short week is handled. Tuesday will be handled like a typical Thursday. Team will practice Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Like the 5 WR package from Dallas. Forced Dallas to rush 3 and drop 8.
  • Giveaways are judged individually. All four giveaways from Dallas game were avoidable. Needs to be better. Not acceptable. We're gonna get better.
