Good news for those hoping to see Jordy Nelson back in a Green Bay Packers uniform for Sunday’s NFC Championship game.

The Packers leading receiver was on the practice field Wednesday, doing some light jogging, stretching and drills with the team.

It’s Nelson’s first action since breaking his ribs against the New York Giants in the Wild Card game, but he’s far from getting the all-clear to resume full contact.

“Every day has gotten better and I think that’s been a positive about it,” Nelson said. “Now I’m just focused on getting back to full motion and doing everything and seeing if I can get another opportunity, which would be great to have.”

Nelson isn’t dwelling on the hit itself, which wasn’t called as a penalty during the game, and didn’t result in a fine for Giants defensive back Leon Hall afterward.

“To be honest with you, my theory is that if I don’t break my ribs, nobody talks about the hit. I think once I break my ribs and get knocked out, then everyone starts analyzing everything,” Nelson said.

Other notable Packers players who didn’t practice on Wednesday due to injury included wide receiver Davante Adams, who has an ankle issue; wide receiver Geronimo Allison, who has a hurt  hamstring; and strong safety Morgan Burnett, with a quad injury.
