Green Bay Packers part ways with Coach McCarthy following loss to Cardinals

The Green Bay Packers announced in a tweet that they would be parting ways with head Coach Mike McCarthy Sunday.

McCarthy has been head coach of the Packers since 2006. His departure comes after a disappointing season. The Packers have lost four of their past five games, all on the road, and trail Chicago and Minnesota in the NFC North.

“The 2018 season has not lived up to the expectations and standards of the Green Bay Packers. As a result, I made the difficult decision to relieve Mike McCarthy of his role as head coach, effective immediately,” President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Murphy said in an official statement.
