Former Green Bay Packers running back Ahman Green has been charged with child abuse. Green was arrested at his Brown County home Sunday night.

A criminal complaint issued by the Brown County District Attorney charges Green with two separate counts:

  • Physical abuse of a child - intentionally cause bodily harm
  • Disorderly Conduct

The criminal complaint states the incident was triggered when Green and his teenage child argued over doing the dishes.

According to the complaint, the child told a Brown County deputy that Green tried to grab them and pull them into the kitchen after they said they didn't want to do the dishes. The victim says they broke away from Green and ran to a woman in the home.

The complaint goes on to report that Green then threw the victim to the ground and against the kitchen cabinets, at one time punching the teenage child in the face.

The criminal complaint states that after the incident, the victim escaped the house and went to a neighbor to report the crime. A deputy investigating the incident observed the victim with a swollen left eye and two minor scratches.

Green is 40 years old. He is the team's all-time leading rusher and is a member of the Packers Hall of Fame  If convicted, he faces more than six years in prison.
