Chicago Bulls shooting guard Dwyane Wade is out for the season after suffering a small elbow fracture Wednesday against the Memphis Grizzlies, the team reported Thursday.

After the game, Wade said he got his arm caught in traffic going up for a rebound with Memphis forward Zach Randolph.

Wade, a Chicago native, averaged 18.6 points and 4.5 rebounds over 56 games this season.

Wade is in his first season with the Bulls after 13 seasons and three NBA championships in Miami. Chicago is 32-36 and sits one game out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Wade played college basketball at Marquette. His number 3 jersey is retired by the university.
