BloodCenter of Wisconsin is holding its 17th annual Milwaukee Bucks Blood Drive on Thursday.

The blood drive, at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, began at 7:00 a.m. and runs until 7:00 p.m.

All attempting donors get two free ticket vouchers for the Bucks game on either Friday, March 31 or Monday, April 10 - although some donors said watching free basketball is just a bonus.

"Blood is vital to everybody's health. So I feel I need to give, just to give back to the community," said Chris Walther, of Brookfield.

Since 2002, the Bucks Blood Drive has drawn more than 7,100 donors and collected more than 6,300 units of blood.

“We like to say every donor impacts three lives,” said Matt Queen, of the BloodCenter of Wisconsin. “So that’s more than 20,000 people.”

Donors can make an appointment online at bcw.edu/bucks or by calling 877-BE-A-HERO (877-232-4376). Get information on who's eligible to donate here.

The entire process takes about an hour. Donors should bring a photo ID that includes birth date. Free parking is available in the parking structure on 6th and Highland Ave.
