The Milwaukee Brewers have had one of the best bullpen years in memory, but they will not be renewing the contract of their bullpen coach.
Adam McCalvy of MLB.com says Brewers GM David Stearns has decided not to keep bullpen coach Lee Tunnell or athletic trainer Dan Wright. McCalvy also says hitting coach Darnell Coles has resigned.
As a team, the Brewers' ERA was 3.73, 4th best in the National League. The bullpen helped the pitching staff lead Milwaukee to the best record in the National League at 96-67.
The Brewers' bats were powerful at times, with the 4th best OPS in the NL, but they scored three or fewer runs in all four of their losses in the NLCS to Los Angeles.
