MILWAUKEE – Despite being the smallest metropolitan market in the MLB, The Milwaukee Brewers ranked 10th highest in total attendance this season among MLB teams.
The Milwaukee Business Journal reports the Brewers drew 2,558,722 fans this season -- an average of 31,589 a game. This was a 10.5 percent increase from the 2016 season attendance of 2,314,614 fans.
Brewers executives said it was the 10th time in 11 seasons the team drew more than 2.5 million fans.
The Brewers finished with an 86-76 record and were not eliminated from playoff contention until two days before the season ended. The Brewers are in the second year of a major rebuilding effort and were not expected to compete for a playoff spot this season.
