MILWAUKEE — Free-agent infielder Eric Sogard has agreed on a one-year deal with the Brewers with a club option for 2021, pending a physical.
Sogard is said to return to the Brewers in 2020 after spending last season with the Blue Jays and the Rays. He previously played for the Brewers in 2017 and 2018 as well.
The free-agent plays second base, third base, and short stop, and has 24 career home runs. Additionally, he has 165 career RBIs.
According to ESPN, the Chicago Cubs looked at making a deal with Sogard but couldn't afford him.
