The Milwaukee Brewers are dealing a veteran first baseman to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for two young players, including a right hand pitcher.
The team has set Jason Rogers in a trade for outfielder Keon Broxton and pitcher Trey Supak. The Brewers have added Broxton to the 40-man roster.
In two years (94 games) with Milwaukee, Rogers averaged .286 with 4 home runs and 16 RBI.
Broxton has been in the minor leagues since 2009, but played seven games with Pittsburgh at the end of last year.
He averaged .256 with 7 home runs, 42 RBI and 28 stolen bases in 88 games for AAA Indianapolis.
Supak has played two seasons of rookie league ball in the Pittsburgh system. He is 2-5 with a 5.85 ERA in 16 games.
