MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers on Friday announced plans to extend protective netting on the field level at Miller Park for the 2018 season.
Many teams around Major League Baseball have made similar moves after a young girl was badly hurt after being struck in the face by a foul ball at Yankee Stadium in September
The team says the extension of the netting will run to the outer edge of each dugout. The netting was first extended to the inside edge of each dugout after the 2015 season.
"The Brewers are currently working with engineers and vendors on specifics related to the project," a news release from the team says. "The new extension project will be completed in time for the 2018 Brewers Home Opener on Monday, April 2.
